Give receipt files names you can actually find.

Phone photos and scanner output rarely keep the store, date, or amount in the filename. 2cmd™ Ledger is a Coming Soon Windows app that reads supported receipt files locally and suggests conservative names and folders—then waits for you.

Receipts disappear into camera rolls and scan folders

A week of errands often ends as IMG_3847.jpg, scan001.pdf, and a Desktop pile named “receipt”. Opening each file to remember the vendor is slow, and bulk-rename tools that stamp today’s date on everything make the pile worse.

People who keep paper for taxes, reimbursements, or household records need the original file to stay a receipt—just with a name and folder that match what is on the page.

How Ledger would handle receipts

Choose the folder that holds receipt PDFs or photos. Ledger is intended to discover supported files (PDF, JPG, PNG, WEBP) on that Windows PC.

For files it can read, it would classify supported receipts when it can, then suggest a filename and a destination folder. Low-confidence fields—dates, amounts, vendors—would be omitted or clearly flagged rather than invented.

You would see every proposed rename and move, edit anything that looks off, and apply only the rows you accept.

Local processing

Receipt images often show card tails, addresses, and purchase history. Ledger is designed to process those files locally by default. v1 is not intended to require uploading documents. Licensing, when it ships, is separate from document content.

Nothing changes until you approve it

Nothing would change until you approve it. Suggestions are editable. Collision safeguards are intended to avoid overwriting unrelated files. The last completed batch is meant to be undoable.

What this is not

Ledger is not expense reporting, bookkeeping, or an accounting system. It does not promise that every receipt will classify correctly. Unsupported files stay put until you decide otherwise. Watch folders, cloud processing, and automatic tax categories are outside v1.
