Coming SoonWindows
Rename PDFs from what is on the page.
Most bulk-renamers only know the clock, a counter, or the parent folder. 2cmd™ Ledger is Coming Soon: read supported PDFs locally, suggest a name from the document, and let you approve each change.
A counter is not a name
Tools that turn a folder into file-001.pdf, file-002.pdf solve nothing if you still have to open file-014.pdf to see which vendor it is.
Content-aware naming only helps if it is conservative. Inventing a date or an invoice number to complete a pattern is worse than leaving the field out.
How Ledger would rename from content
Select a folder. Ledger would discover supported PDFs and images, classify when it can, and propose filenames from fields it actually found.
Low-confidence values would be omitted or flagged. You would edit the preview, deselect rows, and apply a journalled transaction.
2cmd™ Drop is a different product: it converts supported PDFs to Markdown for notes and research. Ledger’s job is the filename and the folder, not a Markdown export.
Local processing
Reading a PDF to name it does not require a cloud document service in this design. v1 is local-first. Licence checks are intended to stay separate from file contents.
Nothing changes until you approve it
Preview before apply. Editable suggestions. No silent overwrite of unrelated files. Undo the last completed batch if the names were wrong.
What this is not
Not every PDF will yield a perfect name. Forms, unusual layouts, and unsupported types may be skipped or filed as Other. Ledger is not a generic regex bulk-renamer and not a watch-folder automaton.
2cmd™ Ledger is not released. There is no buy button, no installer, and no announced price or date on this page.
